The Old course at Gloria Golf Resort, designed by Michel Gayon and opened in September 1997, stands as one of Turkey’s oldest and most beloved golf destinations. Nestled amidst the picturesque forested foothills of the Taurus Mountains, it offers a captivating amphitheatre-like setting for golfers. Despite the rapid emergence of new courses in Belek, Gloria’s classic design ensures its enduring appeal.
The course starts impressively with a par five 1st hole, featuring a water hazard that challenges players right from the start. This is followed by the par three 2nd hole, where another water crossing awaits from tee to green. As the round progresses through scenic pine woodlands, seven lakes and over sixty bunkers come into play, adding strategic complexity to each hole.
A highlight of the course is the short yet challenging par four 16th, guarded by a large lake on the left and bunkers near the green, demanding precision from tee to green to secure a favourable score. The meticulously maintained greens, renowned for their carpet-like quality, further enhance the golfing experience.
