Lykia Links

Overview

Perry Dye, known for his designs like Austria’s Klagenfurt-Seltenheim and Spain’s San Roque (New), has brought his expertise to Turkey’s Antalya region with the Lykia Links at the Lykia Estate, a standout addition to Belek’s golfing scene.

Located near Belek’s eastern edge alongside a river estuary flowing into the Mediterranean, Lykia Links diverges from traditional resort-style courses by embracing a classic links layout. Natural sand dunes and undulating fairways define its character, marking Turkey’s first venture into links golf.

Reflecting his father Pete Dye’s legacy of crafting challenging courses, Perry designed Lykia Links to be a formidable test of golf. Stretching 7,536 yards from the championship tees, the course demands strategic play beyond sheer length. Deep, railway-sleepered bunkers guard greens, expansive waste areas border fairways, and the small, sloping putting surfaces pose additional challenges.

While holes 7 and 8 navigate around a freshwater lake on the front nine, resort-style elements are minimal elsewhere. Holes 13 to 16 on the back nine wind through dunes along the Mediterranean, showcasing both the course’s scenic beauty and strategic difficulty. The finishing hole features a vast waste area flanking the fairway, leading to a uniquely contoured green.

Lykia Links exemplifies Perry Dye’s commitment to delivering a distinctive golfing experience that melds natural beauty with strategic design, offering a memorable challenge for golfers at all levels.
