Archerfield Links (Fidra)

Overview

The Archerfield Fidra course, nestled between Muirfield and North Berwick, opened in 2004, harmonising seamlessly with its esteemed neighbours. Initially a private club, Archerfield now welcomes visitors, boasting a rich golfing history dating back centuries.

In 1869, the original 6-hole course expanded to 18 under James Law and Ben Sayers’ collaboration. After a period of neglect, the estate was revitalised in 2004 by Caledonian Estates, commissioning David Russell and David Williams to design the Fidra course, part of a ₤55 million development.

Measuring nearly 7,000 yards with versatile tee options, the Fidra course features expansive greens with subtle contours, offering challenges for all skill levels. The layout traverses pine forests before transitioning to links terrain, offering panoramic views of Bass Rock and Firth of Forth.

Hosting prestigious events like the Ladies Scottish Open and the Scottish Senior Open, Archerfield Links has solidified its status as a premier golf destination, epitomising the essence of Scottish links golf.
