Los Naranjos Golf Club, adjacent to Las Brisas on a scenic 170-acre site with orange groves and a river, was crafted by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones and opened its fairways in 1977. Initially, it operated in tandem with Las Brisas but later asserted its independence by constructing its own clubhouse and reconfiguring the course layout around this new central feature.
This course epitomises classic RTJ design ethos, featuring gently undulating fairways bordered by trees, strategically placed bunkers, numerous water hazards, and expansive, fast greens. These elements embody Jones’ philosophy of creating challenging holes that reward strategic play while accommodating less precise shots.
Since 1989, Los Naranjos has been under Scandinavian ownership, with Swedish businessmen acquiring it from Percy Nilsson in 2007. They have committed significant investments, aiming to position Los Naranjos among Europe’s premier golf facilities.
Expanding on its legacy alongside its neighbours like Las Brisas and Valderrama, Los Naranjos continues to attract golfers seeking a challenging yet picturesque experience on the Costa del Sol.
