Adare Manor Golf Club

Overview

Adare Manor spans 800 acres of meticulously landscaped gardens along the River Maigue, featuring an 18th-century manor transformed into a luxurious hotel.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Adare’s first golf course opened in 1995. Stretching 7,453 yards from the back tees and 5,082 yards from the forward tees, it embodies Trent Jones’s style with cloverleaf bunkers, American-style mounding, and strategic water hazards and trees along the River Maigue.

The course hosted the Irish Seniors Open from 2002 to 2004, the Irish PGA Championship in 2003, and the Irish Open in 2007 and 2008, elevating its status.

In 2015, J.P. McManus purchased Adare Manor for EUR30 million and initiated a major renovation. Under architect Tom Fazio, reconstruction began in 2016 with a focus on aesthetics and playability. Completed in 2018, the redesigned course features SubAir systems, improved fairways, and infrastructure for televised events.

Enhancements include over 200,000 tons of sand, extensive drainage, and landscaping to improve turf quality and views. Now boasting 42 bunkers and meticulously groomed greens, the course combines beauty with technical challenge.

Adare Manor was set to host the 2026 Ryder Cup, delayed to 2027 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
