Located within Mohammad Bin Rashid City in Dubai, the Dubai Hills Golf Club is a premier addition to the city’s golf scene. Developed by Emaar, which also oversees iconic properties like the Burj Khalifa, this 2018 course was designed by European Golf Design’s Gary Johnston. The course layout forms two looping nines: the outward nine meanders in an anti-clockwise fashion, while the back nine reverses to a clockwise pattern. This orientation keeps players intrigued with dynamic changes in direction and carefully crafted “big reveals” from hole to hole.
Constructed on the site of former camel stables, the course integrates wadi-like features on the front nine with holes around lakes closer to the clubhouse, creating a lush oasis effect. Noteworthy holes include the 330-yard par-four 6th with a helpful fairway slope, the par-three 13th where a Ghaf tree stands guard, and the split-fairway 16th, which has water lurking along the right.
Dubai Hills provides a blend of dramatic elevations, strategic challenges, and tranquil beauty, establishing itself as a distinctive golfing destination within the UAE.
