Dundonald Links

Overview

Originally conceived as part of the Southern Gailes golf and residential complex, Dundonald Links, Ayrshire, became the property of Loch Lomond Golf Club in 2003. Designed by Kyle Phillips, it occupies historic ground near ancient fortifications dating back to 200 BC and once used as Dundonald Camp during World War II.

Adjacent to renowned courses like Kilmarnock Barassie and Glasgow Gailes, Dundonald offers a versatile layout spanning 6,415 to 7,300 yards, suitable for both members and championship play. Despite opening in 2005, it quickly gained acclaim, hosting the 2017 Scottish Open won by Rafa Cabrera-Bello.

Renowned for its impeccable service akin to Loch Lomond, Dundonald presents a genuine links experience contrasting with its private counterpart. In 2019, Darwin Leisure acquired Dundonald from Loch Lomond Golf Club for £4.5 million. Subsequent developments include a new clubhouse, lodge accommodations, and private rooms, relatively recently completed in 2021.
