Quintero Golf Club stands as the realisation of Lea and Gary McClung’s vision to bring top-tier golf to a welcoming community. With guidance from Rees Jones and co-designer Steve Weisser, their dream materialised into what was originally known as the Founder’s course. This spectacular layout is nestled among the cacti of the Sonoran Desert, winding through valleys in the foothills of the central Arizonan Hieroglyphic Mountains. The backdrop of these mountains not only adds a stunning visual element but also introduces thrilling elevation changes throughout the course.
A standout feature is the 9th hole, often regarded as one of the most memorable par threes. Here, players must carry over a diamond-shaped lake to reach a green dramatically perched atop a rock wall, creating a stage-like setting.
Initially reserved for a limited membership, Quintero opened its doors to the public in 2011, allowing golf enthusiasts of all backgrounds to experience its challenging and picturesque course.
