Tralee Golf Club

Overview

Tralee Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, debuted in 1984 as Palmer’s first Irish golf course. Nestled in Kerry, known as Ireland’s ‘Lake District’, Tralee is renowned for its rugged, natural beauty. The course blends seamlessly with the coastal terrain, offering a stimulating journey through both level links land and challenging dunes.

The front nine at Tralee Golf Club unfolds along the coastline, presenting golfers with elevated tees and sweeping views across Tralee Bay to the Atlantic. The back nine ventures into dramatic dunes, requiring strategic play over ravines to reach well-guarded greens. Highlighted by the iconic 3rd hole, “The Castle”, Tralee’s layout is as scenic as it is demanding, reminiscent of classic coastal courses.

While some critics argue about the balance between scenery and golfing challenge, Tralee Golf Club remains beloved for its captivating holes that leave a lasting impression. It’s a course where each shot is influenced by the untamed surroundings, offering an unforgettable golfing experience in one of Ireland’s most picturesque settings.
